yikes, cut off bokeh with your f1.2/f1.4 lenses on A7IV?

yikes is right ! I did not know this.

Doing a bit more research MAC found for me the A7IV does come with full mechanical shutter, so no filters required.

Don't worry, I will find other downsides of the A7IV.

They put some Sony cameras on display at the local Best Buy but they are locked up in a display cabinet. The Canons are out in the open to play with.

I should ask for them to take a Sony out for me to try.

They are locked up at Best Buy. That is the only downside I can think of.

Probably because het handling is simply worse. I got mine at the very local camera shop. You'll have to ask to unlock it, but's it's the same for the Canons.   I've tried all the dials first, found out that the front dial wasn't great at all, but not bad enough to be a deal breaker. The other dials where o.k.  For some buttons it will feel like a brick with buttons, but it's good enough for me.

For me most buttons are needed to guide the AF mostly for low light shooting needs.  That will still be the job of the R5 + 40mm f/1.4 Art.  If the A7IV turns out to be a capable replacement for that might be a cause for migrating to Sony, but my expectations are low at that point.

45 is more than enough, but 500.000 isn't
