It honestly baffles me that Canon didn't just keep building out the M line. It's probably about 2-3 bodies and lenses away from being a complete support system. A flagship body with IBIS + the 32MP sensor + integrated EVF and a vlogger body (both with 10 bit internal video). Then a 15-xx 2.8 IS STM zoom, maybe a 9-22 UWA zoom and a new fast prime in the 22-25mm range. That's all they needed IMO. The whole thing makes no sense.

That all sounds wonderful, but how would Canon market it?  You are talking about a camera identical to the R7, but with EF-M mount.  There is very little in terms of hardwsre that could be cut from the R7 to reduce its cost.  Realistically, all you could really cut out is the 2nd card slot and some weather sealing.  You would still be looking at a $1300 to $1400 camera.  An EF-M 15-xx f/2.8 zoom won't be cheaper than the old EF-S version, which puts that lens at a minimum of $800.  Where is the f/2.8 telephoto zoom?  Where is the high quality long telephoto to go beyond the EF-M 55-200mm?  Where are the Canon versions of the Sigma 16mm and 56mm?  Where is the lens thst covers really wide angle around 7mm to 8mm (12mm to 13mm equivalent).  There are just far too many other higher end lenses missing from the M lineup to support such a camera.  You, personally, may not need all of those lenses, but more than what you listed needs to be available for a M version of the R7 to be successful.
