It honestly baffles me that Canon didn't just keep building out the M line. It's probably about 2-3 bodies and lenses away from being a complete support system. A flagship body with IBIS + the 32MP sensor + integrated EVF and a vlogger body (both with 10 bit internal video). Then a 15-xx 2.8 IS STM zoom, maybe a 9-22 UWA zoom and a new fast prime in the 22-25mm range. That's all they needed IMO. The whole thing makes no sense.

those lenses are what we needed, along with the great f1.4's we have

I'd add, like sony made, a lens going to at least 350 mm

but Canon is driving those wanting these lenses to FF - that is their sense, not ours

I think a flagship body with IBIS + the 32MP sensor + integrated EVF would be getting on for the price and size of an R7.

I think the R7 is about the bigger RF mount and BIG tele lenses for reach

I think an m5II with IBIS and digic 10 would have been smaller than R7 and perhaps 200 - 300 less expensive

A 15-XXmm f/2.8 is likely to be over the EF-M 61mm diameter size limit, not to mention that it would be the most expensive EF-M lens by quite a long way.

probably, then give us a modern 17-55

The 22mm f/2 would undercut a fast prime in the 22-25mm range

give us a Canon 23 f1.4 in the $400 range

just as the 11-22mm would undercut a 9-22 UWA zoom.

ok, then make a 9 mm prime

I'd like a 7.5-15mm though (again, probably too big for the template, and probably too specialised for RF-S), but what I really miss is a fast 62mm, which would be wonderful if they could get it to f/1.4 inside the EF-M template.

agree, small and powerful is what we need and not all the focus on bigger FF stuff
