I just want to share my experience for ground level macro like mushrooms.

I have a Manfrotto travel tripod with reversible central column, and I use a wired USB-C connection from my Nikon Z7 to my smartphone. I use the Camera Control Pro app (10€ in Google store) to remote control the camera.

The app has a built-in focus stacking function.

Interesting. And beautiful pictures! Thanks for sharing. Did you use an external light source and if so which one?

That app sounds useful. How is your experience with it and the built-in focus stacking function? Does it work much differently than doing it through software on the computer? I am curious about your experiences. And can you still properly edit the photo after stacking?

In the meantime I have ordered a Leofoto macro tripod and a macro rail. I now also have an L-bracket. I'm very curious and looking forward to trying it out. For really low to the ground I can always use a rice bag if necessary. But I think I've come a long way with this macro tripod.
