but the 18-150 yields 4 stops stabilization, so it's probably pretty close. Now the Sigma is a very sharp lens. Probably sharper than the 18-150, but I would be willing to sacrifice some sharpness in favor of convenience in many circumstances. Notwithstanding, I will be taking portraits of high school seniors soon and I'll definitely be using the the Sigma 56mm.

On another note, I spend an evening in NYC photographing the crowds and holiday lights, and was pleased with how well the IS worked. I had no problems getting good shots
