Enjoy life on the other side of the fence!

That's a bit dramatic way to describe it, but thanks, I will enjoy it.

LOL, I was sorta alluding to the color of the vegetation over there.

LOL

The R5 stays for all the non green colors.

That’s good! Esp given Sony’s color science…

Bwahahahaha, just kiddin’. I shot with Sony cameras for many years after Digital appeared (and still own a couple!). Enjoy!

The day I started with M the M50 was the best Canon mirrorless camera, and it made my Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 finally usable without inconsistent AF. There was no RF mount. The A7III was released just a view months before, and replacing the EF-s glass by Sony full frame options was out of the question, especially an f/2.8 GM standard zoom.

The 18-35mm f/1.8 will be mothballed. It's the lens to blame for luring me into photography, and it wouldn't ever happened without M.

We’ll, one can never be sure about the future!

Two weeks after selling my R5 Canon will announce the RF 50&85 f/1.4 IS überUSM lenses.... that's for sure.

We’d be so lucky!! Not gonna happen tho.

I still however have a pair of R5ii’s in my sights that have my name on them (for this coming summer).

If you're shooting primarily zooms (that's a weird way of saying this.... anyway) I can imagine you can feel completely at home with Canon.

linking back in part to the thread topic, in twenty years I've done sports action shooting, zooms have often ruled on the field of play to get the framing right on to and fro action and cover the field of play

I don't take 1000 shots per day. I have 1000 days to get some good shots. If there's no right framing there's no picture.  I'm not a pro. Time is on my side. My two little models are always around.

with a prime, as soon as you are doing significant cropping in a to and fro action situation because the framing is not right, you likely needed a different lens

that said, R2 does have the holy zoom RF trinity that would be my choice, versus moving to presumed non - greener pastures

Enjoy your new journey!

R2

I will have to order an ND filter for that FE 50mm f/1.2, as there's no full mechanical shutter on the A7IV.  I've found downside number one.  The thing has RP level shutter modes.

45 is more than enough, but 500.000 isn't
