I had the G5XII for a while. It's the best 1" compact camera in my opinion. The wider aperture was worth more to me than the extra reach of the Sony RX100VII. And it was a tad cheaper. But compared to the XE4, no comparison, I settled on the XE4. Anyway, here's a few samples from the GX5II if it helps.

Low light situations like this museum is where the extra aperture can help.

This was the pre-shot mode with high frame rate. The 3 frames were overlaid in my photo editor.

This was using the built-in star trails feature. Not too bad. The light on the horizon is the local lighthouse.

Pretty decent minimum focus distance, too.
