Agree 100%. If the OP can swing the Canon 32 and/or the Sigma 56, they’ll both easily out-perform the EF 85 (or 100), especially wide open! But of course there’s cost associated with that.

yep, some costs ($400 + $400), but I'd be willing to bet that we will not see such great small value lenses in the RF-s lineup in the next decade, so go for it

+1 The way Canon protects its higher end lines, there’s no way they’ll release a lens like the EF-M 32 (or 56) for the (massively capable) R7/R10/R50/R100 crop bodies.  These combos would heavily cannibalize sales of all of their more lucrative (aka profitable) FF lines.  It’s no wonder Canon is letting M shrivel on the vine.  It’s too capable too!
