Hi,

I was wondering if there are "shorter" and perhaps less wide options available from other lenses?

I don't want to add a srew-in typ rubber hood.

Any ideas/options?

Why ? They push in or out and tilt if needed ? And can be used to spin a CPL filter ?

Because of the rubber, they do not slip as well into the bag as the plasticky things and they are attached directly to the moving lens element may be causing missalignment when pushed too hard.

It is just a personal preference...
PS: I do get the point with the polfilter though!

Was setting mine up on a tripod and was hurrying, not being careful. The ball head was too loose and the camera swung down and the lens hit hard on a wood table.

Hit on the edge of an installed ND filter.  Both did survive.
