With a tripod, I've had natural light exposures as long as 1/4 second, 20 or so images stacked beautifully. Let me know if you want to see an example.

hi ken, yes this was with a tripod, luckily the spider was resting, but the afternoon light was terrible hence i chose to use flash

I did a stack the other day with 80 shots at 6 secs each, it worked but I wandered off during the capture and after stacking I realised I wasnt happy with the pose... live & learn
