R7 and Sigma 150mm-600mm C Stabilization
R7 and Sigma 150mm-600mm C Stabilization
Hi all,
I recently just purchased an R7 as an upgrade to a 7D Mark I and I've noticed an issue with my Sigma 150mm-600MM C lens that I didn't have with it on the 7D body. When I have dual axis (setting 1) set on the Sigma for full stabilization and I press the back button focus button down, the lens would appear to freeze the image I was seeing through the viewfinder eliminating the vast majority of camera movement, especially when fully extended at 600mm. With the R7 I was expecting the same or better because of the addition of IBIS but instead I don't get the freezing of the frame in the same way and notice significant camera movement as I'm trying to focus.
I know Sigma says the lens is not supported on any RF mount bodies but I've seen a number of reviews of this combo (or R5/6) and this wasn't mentioned so I'm hoping it is simply a camera setting but despite searching I have yet to come across an answer to this query.
I tried setting it up to have dual back button focus buttons, one for eye AF and one for traditional AF, but neither seems to resolve the issue.
Has anyone else noticed this and if so how did you solve it. I like the hand hold so adding a tripod isn't the answer I'm hoping for.
TIA.
