R6II + GoPro Shoe Mount + GoPro
1

I know my R6II has tremendous video capabilities, but I prefer to focus on still photography. That said, I have experienced many wonderful wildlife encounters where video would have provided some great captures.  I am thinking about adding a shoe mount + GoPro to my R5  and giving my wife a remote to record when the action is interesting.  I tend to have my camera on a ban bag or tripod when shooting Africa, Yellowstone and other settings.  I am going to spend some time with the R6II video, but I know my go to is always stills.

Any thoughts/advice would be appreciated.

Basically, I want the best of both worlds while keeping my focus on stills.  I am also open to other mounting solutions than the shoe.

Note:  The other option would be some type of mount for my iPhone 14 Pro Max, but the GoPro would probably be more rugged and no big loss if dropped or in the rain.
