So what is the purpose? I am assuming that these type of systems don't allow access to RAW ADC data (just an assumption), for example those used in automotive which is more my world may be slanting my thoughts and our cameras may work differently.

The noise reduction applied pre raw saving can’t be removed. So if you need the information, there’s nothing you can do.

That makes sense but I assume quite a lot is done to the data anyway. From above I could be off track here.

At the same time, you can apply the same noise reduction in post to other cameras and have better measured DR.

So if we apply some NR as you mention to say the RAW from an R5 and from a Sony A1, we would see improvement from Sony but not from Canon?

So you’re not gaining anything that you couldn’t achieve in post, but you’re losing the possibility to adjust it to your needs.
