No, it doesn’t benefit the user. 
The noise reduction applied pre raw saving can’t be removed. So if you need the information, there’s nothing you can do.

At the same time, you can apply the same noise reduction in post to other cameras and have better measured DR.

So you’re not gaining anything that you couldn’t achieve in post, but you’re losing the possibility to adjust it to your needs.

But this allows canon to claim to have the same DR than the competition.
