Sweet deal for $300! Initial impressions (some a mere reiteration of feedback and comments above):

  • Quiet and fast focusing
  • Light yet does not feel fragile
  • Can do a bit of macro up to around 100mm
  • Sharpness is above what's usual for this price range
  • Just half an inch longer (when fully retracted) than the RF24mm (and slimmer)
  • Obvious downside: Indoor with average lighting, you'll have to be north of ISO800 for the lens to be usable. I've taken shots at 1/10 shutter speeds with 75-80% keeper rate so far

Glad you like it, $300 is a good deal for it.
The lens hood for it is the same as the EF-M 18-150 or EF-M 18-55. As a matter of fact any lens hood for the Canon EF-M is mountable on the RF-S lenses. AFAIK

BTW, unrelated question.
I noticed you have both the RF16 and RF24.
Is the RF24 bayonet lens hood mountable on the RF16?
I know it would vignette but not when using it with an APS-C body.
TIA.
