Decisions, decisions…

If you’re considering the M50ii size, the M6ii should be right in the running. It’s the most capable M Series camera out there. It’s fast, it’s light, it’s ergonomically comfortable to shoot. I like using the back (tilting) LCD for composing, but you can clip on an EVF if you want (which I do for long telephotos).

I’m not BS-ing you when I say that it’ll replace all of your DSLRs (and can even stand in for your R6 if desired). I shot a 70D for 5 years (and put in waaay over 100,000 shots), birded with a 7D2 for two years, and currently shoot an R5, R6, R6ii, and R7. Honestly, the little M6ii still holds its own. I use Spot AF with Servo for everything with the M6ii, and the hit rate (shooting some of the most difficult subjects possible, save for BIFs) is astounding. Check those threads I linked to.

I’m so enthusiastic because I’ve put it to all of those tests (and have posted the results here over the years). I still have my M6ii and like many here, will be keeping it until it falls apart!

Happy shopping!

R2

ps. Canon has had a killer reburb deal going on over the holidays!
