Here is the Photographic Dynamic Range (PDR) :

Also shown is the Canon EOS R6 and Electronic Shutter (ES).

Revised to remove NR indicators for ES

that e-shutter for DR sucks on R6II

Even my M6II with e-shutter uses 14 bit and has better DR

I didn't know that Mac. Why would the M6II be different?

in e-shutter, the m6II is single shot, vs machine gun R6II, which like other mfg's may require 12 bit instead of 14 bit to keep up with the buffers using smaller file sizes, and the raw file sizes of the m6II are very similar in size between mechanical and e-shutter - and I can push/pull them equally - the m6II needs 14 bit in e-shutter because it has shutter shock with the mechanical shutter because it lacks efcs and many of us use the 11-22 with e-shutter at base iso to avoid and shutter shock for scapes--bill has asked if we want him to test this for m6II - I'm tied up but may be able to help at some point provide the official proof - right now I can say I see no difference in the raw file sizes and malleability.

Thanks Mac. All interesting stuff.
