Just a couple of questions about the new R6 II
3 months ago
Initially I was interested in the R7 and R6. I enjoy the low-noise high-ISO of my current Canon 6D (v1) which is pushing me to stay with FF. I may start shooting in bright sunny conditions but inevitably end up shooting in overcast or late day or in the woods.
Instead of getting both the R7 and R6 MK2, I wil use the 1.6x crop mode on the new R6 MK2 for reach. 8 mp in crop-mode is just fine for my use as I never had concerns with my 30D, 40D or 7D MK2.
I shoot for pleasure and not professionally. To me, finding the subject is the most important thing and not having the best gear doesn't have any effect on that. I can afford the best gear and more but can't justify the expense.
I want one camera that will satify all shooting conditions through out the day and not have to be burdened by carrying a second camera. I do carry 2 now, the 6D (v1) and 7D MK2.
Why not the R5 or soon to be R5 MK2? The R6 MK2 is at the right price point for my needs.
Don't know why I didn't see this before but the R6 MK2 has a 1.6x crop mode? It is a setting you can select?
I read the thread on the R6 crop mode (after I learned the R6 MK2 has a crop mode) and how it is equivalent to just cropping in post. The advantage in camera is the 1.6x crop mode allows you to see the subject closer in the EVF.
Is the following true for the new R6 MK2? Same high-ISO noise level as original R6? The extra 4 mp did not affect noise at all? I know the read-out speed has improved reading the The-Digital-Picture review with tennis racket shots.
