R5 Lockups Quantified

Earlier this month, I photographed for one day. Afterward, I analyzed the file names on the memory card. The R5 locked up many times during the day. The viewfinder goes black, recent frames are lost, and their filenames do not appear.

The camera has version 1.7 firmware, and all the forum suggestions to prevent or reduce lockups have not been successful.

Difference between the first and last frame = 1591 frames

Number of lockups: 40

Number of frames lost: 54

The camera locks up about once every 40 photos, and it looses about 3% of the photos.

I emailed Canon USA. They instructed me to send the camera in for warranty repair. I am traveling internationally and will not return to the USA until several months after the warranty expires. Canon USA does not accept international packages. They said I could visit Canon Repair in Bangkok, but the "Canon USA warranty may not be honored, and you would be responsible for any repair cost."

Does anyone have experience with the Canon USA warranty being honored in other countries?
