I don’t know anything about the above comment re near infra red. I have the same body and lens and have used for many 100s of images at all focal lengths in different lighting conditions (but not under African sun) and never seen such an artefact.

Very interesting though.

I don’t think it is the software because it was visible on the lcd screen. And yes, same filter on both lenses. I will certainly change that up but still not sure why it is limited to 135-170mm. But I am not versed in lens mechanics.
