Curious re Processing plans? Home lab or send out?
1

I find the idea intriguing. But with a couple SLR that I have not used in over 20 years I am obviously not in the market. (Recently found one contained a partially used roll from youngest daughter’s high school prom from over 20 years back.) There appear to be many who find the idea as total folly, a group of defenders who like me would never purchase, and some unknown and likely far smaller number who may buy the camera.

I am curious what adopters would plan for processing. Home darkroom? Send to film lab? A costume accessory with no real need to even buy film? I sense many here using film still have darkroom access. But, I did a quick search and found most of the services for developing provided digital scan files, prints available only for an additional fee. It made me wonder why would I return to the limitations of film if my viewing plans were going to be jpeg files delivered in a week or two at a cost that rapidly exceeded cost of a SD card. I am not a prodigious shooter, but may take 500 images in a week of travel. It would not take too many of those excursions to find that at current quoted development prices the cost would rapidly far exceed the cost of whatever budget friendly film camera I chose to purchase. Judiciously shooting a limited number of frames in B&W does not mean all my captures immediately become works of art.
