It is very smart. Please Pentax think about releasing manual focus lenses also at good price.

This project i asked for 3 years ago.

very silly move

It really depends on the cost of doing it. If they could put designs from the 1980s back into production, at modest cost, I'm sure there are customers for them. I think there are 5 or 6 lenses in production with aperture rings on them.

It is only an issue if they create a K1000 mk2 or a MX mk2.  If it is a Super Program Mk2 or a MZ-S Mk2 the lack of an aperture ring is not an issue.

(the original 3 limiteds the HD 35, and the SMC 50, not sure about the macro). Would some classics find a market, say the FA* 24 ? , the A-15 or FA-20, FA-28, FA-135 f/2.8 (or A* 135 f/1.8)

Brand them as "Pentax classics" and they will work with anything from a K1000 to K1.

The downside is people saying "What ? A screw drive, non-weather sealed 28mm to 50 year old optical formula - where's a modern sigma-art / DFA* style lens". And for those who want vintage optics to shoot film many of these can be bought used for very little.
