I just tried this and I can confirm that I still can hear some noise after I switch IS off in R6. But it is very, very quiet.

Thanks

NP. They changed something that makes the R6II louder. The only thing a fan will do in a a sealed enclosure is help the little person in there who turning a crank or something from sweating so much.

It is not heat sealed ? The heat comes out of the body ? The fan spreads the heat all around the body so more of the body can get rid of the heat faster ?

Which fan? I think the assumption is that it doesn't contain one. My R5s produce a similar type of noise when powered up.

The R6II IS is definitely louder than the r6 witch is why this question as come up here and on other forums.

Don't Look Up! The very fabric of captured light is noise.
