Vision Correction and the Viewfinder?

Question for you "youngsters" like me, in our early 70's:

My vision has taken a hit in the last year or two, with cataract surgery coking up this summer. I understand that there are choices for the new eye lenses. Some are for distance, some for more reading situations, and some mix them by having a "distance" lens in one eye and a "reading" lens in the other.

I am right eye dominant. (My right eye is the worst of the two currently, and I have found myself looking into the viewfinder with my left eye on occasion these days, a very odd situation.)

If you wouldn't mind sharing your experience and knowledge on the questions below, I would much appreciate it. Note: my camera bodies are the R6 and R7 (thank Canon for great autofocus systems!).

Would it be best to look into the viewfinder with "distance" vision, "reading" vision, or it really doesn't matter?

In general, if you have had this performed, did you have both lenses the same (both distance for example), or have one each for reading and distance?

I will obviously consult with my ophthalmologist, but he/she may not be a photographer. Again, I welcome your insight (pun intended).
