I don't understand why Pentax is part of the discussion if there is no need for the size, weight and extra complexity of a pentaprism and mirror.

surely this depends on what your criteria are. Perhaps there are other things about Pentax that outweigh the size and weight (image quality, ergonomics, customisability). I don't like the trend for small dinky cameras hence my choice of the Panasonic S1R and the Fujifilm X-H1.

Similarly. I don't understand why anyone would introduce the K-3III into the discussion when it has a fixed rear screen.

Agree - for me this makes the K3 iii a non-starter.

I have decided to wait until Pentax offer a tilt lcd with PDAF and catch in focus on the LCD. I will be first in line.
