On returning home, I just take the camera as is (no bag or any kind of other protection) back in the house and the lens will sometimes fog up with condensation unless I had remembered to put the lens cap back on, but the only concession I make to the fogged camera is I don't turn it back on until the condensation dissipates.

Letting condensation build up regularly and often on glass surfaces will eventually buld up even layer of haze on lens elements and sensor cover glass. While you might not see it affecting anything with the short life cycle of digital cameras, with film camera lenses that have been used for a long time, one can see if the lenses have been treated this way.

I feel this is cheap lens for such as kit lens. Just use it in winter and don't need worry too much. Even you have to throw it due to haze, doesn't lose much
