By somehow explain to all the dumb but famous "reviewers" what is the camera is for and what it is not for. They cause too much damage.

Impossible, really. Reviewers need a readership and they generally go after the biggest audience which is rarely the best informed. They are motivated to excite their audience, not be truthful to the tiny specialist niche market who actually care. The mainstream audience demands all cameras be all but identical and judge them on that basis.

Of course! The perfect camera has to be the standard by which all others are judged.

Marketing becomes a game of leap frog with one vendor introducing an improved spec, and the others racing to catch up or leap ahead. And it continues until we have excellent but near standardised products. To the reviewer any product that is strong in one feature but doesn't measure up in all the others is dead meat. Foveon can't do ISO 10 billion and never will, it can't do 100FPS, it can't save a file in 0.1 secs. It can't shoot 1000 shots per charge or lock onto a gnat's eye at a 1000 yards.

To a standard internet reviewer type, it's dead in the water. I still remember Amateur Photographer reviewing the SD14 and saying its maximum print size capability was A4 because it had a 4MP sensor.

Of course. They don't realize that a megapixel is not a constant.
