Not true.
My Sigma 100-400 lens has corrections which my R10 body can apply in-camera.
I’m not sure if is the same with Tokina lenses, but would like to know before buying that lens.
As far as I know it's a trick that Sigma figured out with the EF Lenses in their Global Vision line (A,C and S series), But there are no profiles in camera for Sigma or other third party lenses. Canon has never build third party corrections in in their firmware for the various Eos cameras. Sigma lenses use a generic profile of a profile from an existing Canon lens
I own two Sigma Global Vision lenses (150-600 and 100-400) and there are some corrections available but also issues with those if you enable all options, If I remember correctly even Sigma has stated to not use Lens corrections like Lens abberation correction
Edit:
All recent Canon Eos DSLRs have profiles for many different Canon EF lenses standard, but you still have to or can add other Canon EF lens profiles with their Lens registration tool program and there are no third party profiles available with that tool.
Other side note: Canon RF lenses do have their own profile (in lens firmware) and will communicatie/upload that to a Canon Eos R series body, R series body do have many EF lens profiles like the DSLRs loaded in their (in camera) firmware. EF lenses don't upload their profiles to the camera, EF lenses are not that sophisticated or smart like the RF lensesĀ
