Further research here and else, answered my question.

Simple as this lens was designed to be matched with Canon Life size Converter.

This lens is almost prehistoric!

Best

It's definitely from a bygone age, but it's still a surprisingly good lens. I had one for a while and though its bokeh was not the best I found it to be trustworthy, with accurate and consistent AF and of course good sharpness.

I found a very well kept used EF USM 100 Macro and went for it. I could use it too as a portrait lens and despite not an RF, I expect it to feel more contemporary and better matched to the R5. Paid only a third of the price of a new current EF 100 Macro L.

Best
