First of all I would like to share some images I did with my brand new 23f/1.4WR.

They are all full size jpg SOOC totally untouched (yeah I know they are not really straight ).

This lens is the one that I was waiting for since I get in the Fuji world.

For me it is, even if it's not totally, perfect.

Good size/weight/design, sharp at any aperture even in the corners, nice bokeh and WR.

A real all rounder where the limitation will be my own skills and creativity and not the lens itself.

This bring me to my XT2 which I used to do those images.

The XT3 was great but the gap with the XT2 was not sufficient for me to change my XT2 (some AF and video stuff).

I didn't liked the XT4. Bigger, swivel screen... Also I prefer the switch which allow me to choose the metering than this video/still one.

Now the XT5. I recognized that is a great product within the XT line. Nice size, back to the screen that I like, better resolution on OVF and screen... However... I rarelly (almost never) crop and 40M is really big for post processing. And buy a high resolution camera to use it with compressed files doen't work for me.

Lossless compressed RAWs are, well, lossless. If your software can accommodate them, there is no downside to using them. There is no loss of resolution whatsoever.

Also, I still prefer a switch to choose my metering and it is missing.

But most important, it seems from the research that I made, that I will lose a bit of low light performance compare to my XT2. And anyway it doesn't seems that I will have really better image quality

About AF and IS. Yes definitively it will be great if I can have this improvement. But not at the cost of what I listed above and which is more important for me.

Regardind specifically the AF, I started my photography journey on mid 70's with a Zenit. Then Nikon FA, F4s and Nikonos V. For digital, I was with Canon 10D, 40D and last 6D. Now Fuji XT2. I always use pretty good glasses. Now, here is the trick: I always adapt myself to the AF tool that I had, period! And my percentage of missed images because of the AF was not that bad

So I certainly will calm my GAS with the new 56f/1.2WR

Yes it's true. And I'm using Capture One on a good Zenbook.

If it was my only concern I think I will move to the XT5. However based on my actual information the XT5 despite his impressive specs do not check all my necessaries cases regarding low light performance and deal breaker image quality.

Maybe future review, update and firmware will show me that I'm wrong.
