Fascinating. Although it probably has only limited use. Thinking of landscape photography, with a tripod or handheld, this dangling attachment will feel quite awkward. Starting the Camera Connect app seems to be less of a hassle. But if it doesn't work, what would you do...

For my situation, I could see one possible use, when I set a camera trap, I mount the camera upside-down beneath a metal cart:

If I wanted to use it for filming, I could mount the GP-E2 outside the cart and have geo-tagged movies! So I can find out where my house lives
