i have both now while i run the R6ii through its paces. so far i prefer the AF of the R6mii. i like the colors a little better in the R6ii. Both cameras are new to me and ive only been comparing for a week. i am a Pentax K1ii convert so both are great upgrades in the video dept.

this isnt in relation to performance but i do a lot outside as well and i feel the build quality is superior in the canon.

That’s great to know. Do you know if older EF Canon lenses or Sigma have the same AF speed as RF lenses? If I got get R6II I wouldn’t be able to afford the RF lenses.

What is it that you prefer the AF a little more in the Canon?

so the only RF lenses i have right now are the canon RF 24–105mm F4 L IS USM, RF 50mm F1.8 STM, RF 85mm F2 Macro IS STM, RF35mm F1.8 Macro IS STM. i scored these all on black friday during the refurb blowout. ya, some are budget lenses but man they all blow anything i was using with my pentax K1ii out of the water (as far as AF is concerned) ive kept the 24-105 on pretty much most of the time.... but i also have these EF lenses: EF 17-40 f/4L, EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS III and EF 135mm F/2L they both work flawlessly on the adapted R6mII. still far exceeding the AF on my previous pentax. i cant quite tell a difference between either of these lenses adapted to my mII and my A7 IV. i dont think im really experienced enough as a "tester" to tell but so far with the FE 24-70mm f/2.8 G Master II lens i have with it i am prefering the r6mII over it with the 24-105L even though the sony is faster i like having that extra range to 105 with the 24-105 in a single lens. when i pixel peep both at 70mm the sony has a very slight advantage in sharpness but honestly i cant tell the difference when not pixel peeping and the DR seems greater with the Canon. i seem to be able to push into the highlights slightly more with the canon raw images in LightRoom. ive heard other mention that EF glass functions even better on RF mount EOS cameras than it ever did on standard EF bodies but i cant confirm since ive never had an EF mount canon camera before. I will say this EF 70-200 on my R6mII is killer! the AF work very well and the image is quality is great. i havent used the 135mm prime EF lens yet but im hoping to soon. im actually on the lookout for a used EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II since i like the adapted setup so much and EF lenses can be had far cheaper than RF

That’s wonderful. I decided on the R6 mkII. Your info as well as others made a difference. Im planning on getting EF 70-200 eventfully. Right now I’m researching the video capabilities and how the footage edits.
