A family member do have a Leica M9 and a Q2. While I like the rendering of the M9 (not the price), the Q2 doesn't give me any sort of joy, even at the image level. The Dp2 was far more pleasing, always wondered when opening the raw "why on hearth this picture is sooo pleasing ? ". magical, especially for the price.

As mentioned elsewhere, I'm a 'Leica guy'™, having had at least one continuously since I bought a new M5 in 1977. I currently own an M9 Mono and an M240, both of which have their charms - particularly recreating the feel of a Leica film camera - but with the purchase of an SDQ a few years ago, and now an SD15, I've become a 'Foveon Guy'™.

At least insofar as we are talking about digital B&W, the SD15 is without equal. The M9 Mon can't touch it for recreating various B&W film looks. It's an incredible camera and I'm happy to put up with its limitations to get the stunning B&W files it produces.

Of course, a lot of it is down to user skills, especially in learning how to correctly post-process the X3F files. But, given the results of my learning curve, the M9 Mono is going up for sale and the SD15 is usually found in my bag.

Below are a few recent B&W shots with the SD15. Forgive the pretentious subject matter:
