New to photography here, well sort of, I've been using my phones (original Pixel to Pixel 7). They always left me wanting more. Long story short.....I couldn't decide between the refurb M200 or M50 II kits, eventually settling on the M200.

Being new to photography and it's gear, anything I should look out for on refurbs? I know the kit lens has a wide swing of variations because of optical decentering (soft corners). Looking at videos, the consensus seems to shoot at f8-f11 at all focal lengths with this lens.

It wasn't until yesterday while searching for something else (UV filters or lens hood), that i discovered the M200 removed the self cleaning lens mechanism from it's predecessor the M100 and peers. How big a deal is this? If I knew that originally might have went with the M50 II instead.

Do you mean cleaning of the sensor right?

my understanding is that it still happens. It’s just doesn’t display the cleaning message. There was an extensive thread about this you can search for.
.

The M200 does not have sensor cleaning tech.  I had one converted to full spectrum and the guy who did it xonfirmed this.  I have had to clean the sensors on both my M200s several times.  It can be an issue.
