Re: What software do you guys use?

With my Canon T7i (800D) DSLR cameras, I mostly use the viewfinder. But there's times that I also use the LCD screen. When I'm using the viewfinder I judge the exposure and white balance by viewing the image in the LCD screen after I take it. Plus the setting I now have keep the exposure nearly perfect each time (I'll explain later if you want to know). For white balance the AWB (auto white balance) does a real good job. I'm surprised sometimes how good it does. But in cloudy weather, I find that it's better to use the cloudy white balance.

When I first purchased a Canon DSLR, it was the Canon T2i (550D). Then later i also used a Canon T3i (600D) camera. A few years ago I decided to upgrade. I chose the Canon T7i (800D). It was a huge improvement. It was there that the exposure and white balance was more accurate. I rarely have blown highlights with the settings that I use.

I also am taking pictures with a Canon M50 MKII mirrorless camera. I do like it for it's light weight but sometimes the buttons/dial/wheel are too small. The Canon DSLR's for me, feel more comfortable.

If you did want something like the Canon T7i (800D) or Canon T8i (850D) camera, maybe you could try them out at a store or from a friend.   They are vastly improved over the Canon 1000D.
