I hear you. Buying gear for me is addictive and inspires me to get out there and take some pictures, good, bad or otherwise.

I'm looking for a intervention group for photographers who have trouble stop buying,

hahahaha, ..just kidding, but not a bad idea :))) I stopped buying.

I enjoy the hunt for new gear / deals more then the actual craft itself.

I did enjoy the hunt for new different gear and deals of coarse. Although in the past when I was a photojournalist I didn't care about gear just the image. The image was the most important.

Having owned about everything except micro 4/3s

I owned m4/3 it was great for what was, but not for me.

my interests currently lie in using legacy gear.

Yes

I really enjoy sigma foveons,

Yes, I own all the Foveons and still use them.

fujifilm S5 pro(ccd), Pentax K10d (ccd), maybe a sony a390 (ccd) to try out some old minotla 200mm f2.8 lenses.

CCD and Foveon sensors are the closest to film that you can get mainly the older sensors,

Goodness, we have another Iain G Foulds.

but the new FP has the best digital IQ of any digital camera I've seen and other pro photographers say the same. I've toyed with the thought of buying a D200 and removing the AA filter,

Don’t do it. Recipe for moire issues. You must be reading some Cult of The Old forum.

but a Fuji S5 pro is a good idea as the lenses (mainly the D lenses) can go both ways digital and film. I'm moving back to film as digital is getting boring.

Not as boring as I found it to process film and paper.

The only processing that I found boring was that of Cibachrome prints, which was rather slow. Watching the drum rotating on the Jobo machine.

But the results were worth it.

Don

Well Don

That sure is fancy, mine drum was on a UNICOLOR UNIROLLER and it was hard keeping the temp at 104 degrees, but it can be done. I never found it boring as I had a Beer and Cheeseburger with me. Nothing like the smell of fixer and a cheeseburger...............it was wonderful. Now it's a lite beer and vegie burger.............hahahhahahaha:) I remember one time when I live at 7000 ft elevation and there was a raging snow storm outside and I was all snug in my darkroom processing Cibachrome. The Darkroom was 104 F I was in my underwear with my beer and cheeseburger, and there was a raging snow storm outside but I had to get the job done as I had already been paid.................................it was wonderful.......................hahahahahahahah I truly miss those days.

Have fun

Roger J.
