I will add a Z9 to the kit, but will also keep my D850 and F mount glass. I'm not surprised at the discounts that folks are seeing. However, in time, you will see a gradual increase in the value of F mount glass and in some bodies - like the D850 and DF. As Nikon scales back production of F mount stuff the wide universe of folks who own and use the system will still be in the market for equipment that is in good condition, etc.
My thoughts exactly. I've picked up several F mount classics just recently, which felt like amputations of my wallet. But which actually represent good value, given what they cost new in Z mount. What did I buy ? Well, a 600/4G for £2700. a 400/2.8G for £4,500. and a 14/2.8D for £500. They're all in great condition. The foto kitty is flat broke now. But that's ok. Just being able to pick up these lenses at these prices shows a lot of people must be offloading to upgrade to Z. That suits me just fine.
