Re: Solution and workaround
2
Setting up my x-t5 and got the same lock up. Only, it wiped all the my menu settings and all my camera settings after I pulled the battery- back to factory default for almost everything. Lost my 7 custom recipes/set ups I had done. Lost location/geo. Highlight/shadow tone and those settings all reset (In addition to to the 7 recipes I had programmed in) But, it kept date/time. I also noticed the bottom left of the camera got quite warm while i was setting everything up. Wondering if I pulled the battery in the middle of camera writing software or processing something and it wiped the other settings.
Googled and found this thread, so I tried with 15 items instead of 16. The D-pad buttons would not respond, but the focus stick would. Then, neither would respond. Also, holding my eye up to the viewfinder helped- but only sometimes. Only consistent thing is that it is repeatable, but not always in the same d-pad/focus stick order. Not normal and not something my X-H2 does. I did see a bit smoother operation with 14 items- so not sure what that means. Late now, and will do some more testing tomorrow.
It reminds me a bit of the light leak issue I think the X-T1 or 2 had. It only affected a batch of cameras- and I wonder if that could somehow be in play here? That's a guess, as I assume it would have to be a hardware or software code issue with only certain bodies as some are reporting no issues at all.
Also, I now have to completely set up my camera again. If it continues, not sure how it doesn't get returned (just delivered yesterday). Or, hopefully a firmware soon.
