You'd think so, wouldn't you Tom? Interestingly though, we have a historical example proving that it can indeed be done, and has already been done. It's called the SD1. Yes, they are. My fp L can go out with me all day and I seldom need to swap in my second battery. Maybe I am not taking enough pictures?

The fp probably uses a standard processing chip, like other Bayer cameras. The Foveon cameras used programmable logic chips, which would have a higher power consumption, not being designed for use in cameras.
