I briefly considered the fp for the compact size. I also was considering the Fuji medium format cameras that were on sale, but price of lenses was prohibitive. In the end, I picked up a refurbished Nikon Z7 ($1499) and some bargain deals on some f-mount lenses. For a total of about $3000 i now have a Z7, 70-200 f/4 and 200-500 f/5.6 on top of my older Nikon gear.

I hope you progress to non-adapted lenses asap. If the user experience wasn’t starkly better, Nikon wouldn’t sell any Z lenses. Unfortunately you picked the wrong brand if you want access to affordable 3rd party native mount lenses.

I hope Sigma does something exciting camera wise, but they are probably too busy focusing on lenses where they make money.

The fp is probably their least loss-making camera, ever. Sadly.

I've actually been impressed with most of my f-mount lenses so far on the Z7. The ibis and af accuracy has breathed new life into them. I'll replace some of my old screw driver lenses at some point.
