Only few people prefer EVF over OVF for what you see in the finder,

This is a strange and incorrect assumption, I think most people.
And I'm pretty sure every sports photographer is happy that the rattling and vibrating mirror is gone forever from the new pro cameras.
Photography is digital now, and you no longer need a mirror to see through the lens. And with my Lumix camera, I can practically look in the dark ...

We are only guessing, all of us, of course. And so are Jozef and henricoo.

Moreover, what one prefer is not so easy do define.

I guess that if you ask people to compare a good EVF and a good OVF from the perspective that what you see looks good and is least annoying. Give them those cameras and some time and let them look thoroughly in the finder, without taking any pictures and not evaluating the ergonometric of the camera. Then I am 100% sure that the result in most cases would put the OVF first. And that with a rather big margin. It is no doubt that the image in the OVF looks much more like the subject and is much more stable. There are so many faults with the image in the EVF, even for the best EVFs.

But, if you just ask a random photographer that has not done this thorough test then you might get any answer, mostly based on belief.

But, I would say that an OVF image wise is vastly superior even to the best EVFs today.

Then there are advantages with an EVF.
