Of course, in many cases the Sigma 56mm is no „general purpose lens“. But here I have some examples illustrating what this lens is generally useful for:
- portraits,
- close up shots,
- landscapes.
Additionally, even with my „slow“ M6, this lens enables to „freeze“ moving subjects.

So, depending on the situation, this lens „can be“ a general purpose lens. I really enjoy using it because of its great sharpness, IQ, bokeh, color rendering, large aperture and small size.

Kind regards,

Very nicely done, and so useful (as you've demonstrated!).

Now you can move the lens from your "Wishlist" to your "Equipment List!"

Happy shooting!

Thanks, R2, for your friendly comment

Indeed, I have moved both the Sigma 56mm and the Sigma 16mm from my "wishlist" to my "equipment list". Both lenses are great, but I really like the 56mm a little bit more
