Technique is meaningless

I recently shared these two photographs on social media, which one do you think got the most response, shares, comments etc...

I will give you a hint it wasn't the first one shot with a high-quality lens and camera, set up carefully during capture, and worked on diligently in post.

The 2nd one I grabbed through the window of my vehicle not even stopping, but driving slowly by with my cell phone and did nothing to in post.

I like the first image a lot due to many reasons, the 2nd one to me is a throw away, but yet again, as proven over and over again, technique - meaning gear centric, fixating on image quality, and technical perfection always loses to esthetic emotional appeal.

The only people who care about technical perfection in our photography is people like us here, everybody else sees it the opposite way and reacts to esthetic emotional appeal.

What are your thoughts? Agree or disagree?
