EF-S 24mm 2.8 and the R7.
2

I bought a refurbished EF-S 24mm 2.8 pancake for $79 last week and it got here yesterday. I needed/wanted a 40mm equivalent fixed lens for the R7, that wouldn't break the bank and this fit the bill. It is similar to my EF 40mm 2.8 on my RP.

I was also interested in how the R7's IBIS would mesh with this lens in very low light/slow shutter speed situations. Two quick examples, just to check sharpness and how well the IBIS works. 1st, a picture I took of my dash board on my car. It is covered with dust and dog hair, so it seemed like a good test for resolution. 2nd, a photo I took this morning near dawn, lit only by an overhead ceiling fan light. These were shot a 1/13 and 1/10th of a second, respectively.

These results are quite satisfactory for my purposes. I recommend this lens if you need a cheap, optically excellent "normal" lens for your R7.

Need to clean this dash!
