The R7 is weather sealed to the degree of the EOS 90D according to Rudy Winston of Canon USA

Of course no camera or lens is waterproof. Many of the most expensive EOS cameras are better in water resistance the the EOS 90D. The 1DXIII is one the better resistant.

I don't see the R7, R10 or any of the XXD series as being suitable for use in inclement weather. Waterproof means using underwater which is out of this discussion. It's a matter of if you would use any of these in a rainstorm.

I'd not which is why I think pairing an L lens (rainstorm proofed) with an R7 doesn't mean you have an inclement weather kit.

I would not use any  of these series in a rainstorm.   I have camera raingear which I have used in mild rain.   No heavy rain for me with the raincoat covering the camera and lens.
