Tamron 17-70 with MCEX-11
6

Gave the Tamron a test with the MCEX-11 extension tube. The Tamron has a close focus by itself, thus, at 17mm with the tube, the focal plane is basically the UV filter on the lens. The closest focal length I can get is 20-24mm, almost touching the subject. The minimum I can shoot without having the lens casting a shadow on the subject is at 35mm. At 70mm, it can focus between 8cm-30cm from the front of the lens, workable distances.

Before anyone dissing the UV filter, the lens touched wet/greasy subjects a few times while I was experimenting with the close focus. I only needed to remove the UV filter and wash it with soap. So, the UV filter does provide protection when working too close to the subjects

A few test shots, each is stacked from about 35-55 shots using enfuse (RAW processed and exported from darktable). Very appreciate the focus-bracketing feature on the X-T2 (which is not available on the X-T20).

Fujifilm X-T2
