A quick revisit and re-evaluation of the 56/1.2 in light of other options in 2022

There was a commission free sale offered by TradeMe here in New Zealand and I thought real hard about selling my 56/1.2 and get the latest one, the WR version, heavier and more expensive, but focuses closer.

But also have the 50/2 which focuses real close, so not really an issue as such. But would still consider the closer focusing distance a huge bonus.

I then watched a few YT videos, one by this instagram dude from California, can't remember his name now but he almost always shoots incredibly attractive young women. So watched his blind test and found that there appeared to be a contrast difference, the new one sharper etc. But this exact sharpness would also have an impact on the "soft-sharpness" I actually really like about the original 56/1.2.

I thought I better have a quick flick through my files of the last 9 years, I think I got the 56/1.2 in 2013? Can't remember as I had originally used the 60/2.4 for portraits ...

Photos randomly chosen, but should cover a wide range of subjects.

Dunno, but in the end I decided to keep the 56/1.2 ... might change my mind if I could try the new lens ... but for now I am ok.

I think

Happy to hear other people's opinions.
