For me this is a landscape lens--and useful at that. If you get a good price, take it. I'd use this with the CP adapter on a mirrorless body.

The 400 5.6 is uninteresting to me. I had it. It's a tripod-only lens because it lacks IS. Maybe it's now usable handheld on an IBIS body.

I've never had mine on a tripod and I've taken thousands of photos with it so calling it a tripod only lens is a stretch.
