Yes, with IBIS, the 400 F5.6 is excellent.

Talking non-ibis usage, I did a series of A7RIV pixelshift shots.  IMO these are wildly impractical at this resolution as you have to do many sets of shots to get a good registration so as to get no artifacts! (Even ground vibration is an issue, and forget even the heaviest tripod!)
I was testing to get a good feel of whether the lens would still be useful on a 100mpx FF body or say a 50 mpx APSC, since I telecrop a lot.
Anyway I did manage 2 good registrations, with a very clean result.
And though opinions vary as to whether this is actually testing the lens, it does tell me my unit will not be scared by the next mpx increases in sensors.
(Unlike the pixelshift experiment, the "noise" will be deafening of course!)
