Tamron 17-70mm VC on and off

Okay I have looked this up several ways and cannot find a good answer. As you guys probably know, the Tamron does not have switch to turn its VC on or off. But I cannot seem to find any way of doing it in the XT5. It appears to me in reading the manual and anything that I can find is that either I can turn off IBIS completely which would be both the camera and the lens when going to the IS Mode in the menu and simply picking OFF,  but I do not see where I can pick one or the other to turn off.

Is that the case?  And does it make a difference? Having experimented with the lens and camera combo, I wonder if in certain circumstances with both enabled if they work in concert or at competing purposes for the sharpest imaging. So I thought it might be nice to try one versus the other. But maybe not an option. Anybody help with this and know the answer?
